Editing multiple configuration items and assets

In the Remedyforce CMDB, classes and their corresponding configuration items (CIs) and assets are displayed based on the CI and asset management configurations and the CMDB user permission assigned to you for CI Management View and Asset Management View. For more information, see Overview-of-the-Remedyforce-CMDB-tab. The CIs and assets represent records in the Remedyforce CMDB. On the Remedyforce CMDB tab, you can edit multiple CIs and assets of a class based on the following permissions assigned to you by the system administrator:

  • Object permission of the class
  • Remedyforce CMDB user permission

The following table lists the required permissions for editing multiple CIs and assets of a class:

For Rule Based Asset classes, fields of the superclass based on which the rules criteria have been set are not editable. For example, if a Rule Based Asset class A has been created by applying the rule criteria Model Name = B, while editing multiple assets of A, the Model Name field is not editable.
