Creating and editing records


On Remedyforce Console list view, you can create and edit records. For information about the supported record types, see Overview-of-the-Remedyforce-Console-tab.

To create a record

Perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Remedyforce Console > View.
  2. Select the record type that you want to create.
  3. Click New. Fill in the details.
  4. Click Save.

To edit a record

Perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Remedyforce Console > View.
  2. Select the record type that you want to edit.
  3. Update the information in the required fields.
  4. Click Save.

  • You can paste or drop images in custom rich text format (RTF) fields only.
    ImportantMake sure that the This folder is accessible by all users option is selected for the BMC RTF Images folder in the Documents object.
  • If an RTF field is not present, administrators must add a custom RTF field to the relevant fieldset. For more information, see Customizing-forms-for-the-Remedyforce-Console-tab.
  • You can insert the following image types in RTF fields:

      • .png
      • .jpeg
      • .jpg
      • .gif 
  • RTF fields have a formatting menu as shown in the following figure. Text fields do not have a menu.

  • You can copy and paste or drag and drop images to RTF fields in the following modules of Remedyforce Console:
    • Activity Feed > Send Email
    • Actions > Email
    • SmartView > Actions >Send Email
    • Details > Action History
  • When you paste or drag and drop images to an RTF field, the image is shrunk. You can double-click to view it in full size.
