Troubleshooting issues related to Activity Feed


The following table lists the issues related to Activity Feed:

When you select the Configure Signature check box, the following error message is displayed:

You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation.

  1. Navigate to Setup > Manage Users > Profile page.
  2. Select profile for which permissions are required to be updated and then click Edit.
  3. Select Enabled Visual Page Access.
  4. Select BMCServiceDesk_RtfEditor.
  5. Navigate to Setup > Manage Users > Permission Sets > ServiceDesk_Staff > Objects Settings > Users.
  6. Give read and edit access by selecting Rich Text Email Signature.

In Activity Feed, while adding an attachment, following error is displayed:

Attachment creation failed. Please try again later" or "Attachment creation failed. Please try again later : API_CURRENTLY_DISABLED: API is disabled for this User.
  1. Open the Setup > Manage Users > Profile page.
  2. Select profile for which permissions are required to be updated and then click Edit.
  3. In the Administrative Permissions section, select API enabled.

While adding attachment in send email screen from activity feed, following error is displayed:

Attachment creation failed. Please try again later" or "Attachment creation failed. Please try again later : insufficient access rights on cross-reference id.
  1. Open the Setup > Manage Users > Profile page.
  2. Select profile for which permissions are required to be updated and then click Edit.
  3. In the Custom Object Permissions section, for Temporary Attachment Select check boxes for Read, Create, Edit and Delete permission.

While sending an email, following error is displayed:

NO_MASS_MAIL_PERMISSION, Single email is not enabled for your organization or profile.
  1. Go to Setup > Email Administration > Deliverability.
  2. In the section Access to Send Email (All Email Services), select All email option from the Access Level list.

Activity Feed shows the following error message while loading.

Apex Heap size too large: 6907693 

To resolve this error, create a custom setting ShowActivityFeedActionsInBatchesOf in Remedyforce Settings and assign a batch value to load the required number of activities. You can set any value between 10 to 100.

For example, if the setting is set to 20, then only 20 activities are shown at the first load. To view the next set of activities, click Show More Activities.

If the setting does not exist, Activity Feed might show this error.
