Installation process overview

This topic provides an overview of the installation process from preparing for the installation to the available methods of actually performing the installation.

Installation process

The installation process consists of the following stages:

• Stage 1: Prepare for installation
  During this stage, you identify the files that you must download from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site, how to access the files, and download them. You determine the bundled components that you might also want to install and you perform specific tasks to prepare your environment for the installation and use of these components.
• Stage 2: Install BMC Release Process Management
  In this stage, you install BMC Release Process Management (RPM) directly using an installation wizard or install the product unattended using a silent installation. You might also need to complete some preparatory tasks before you begin installation and additional tasks after installation completes.
• Stage 3: Install BMC Release Lifecycle Management Requester UI
  In this stage, you perform the installation of the additional RPM component. After you installed RPM, you can install BMC Release Lifecycle Management Requester UI (now called Release Process Management - Requester UI, 5.0.03.001 onward) directly using an installation wizard or install the product unattended using a silent installation. You might also need to complete some preparatory tasks before you begin installation and additional tasks after installation completes.
