Administering FootPrints Configuration Manager Overview
Setting up FootPrints Configuration Manager can be an involved process, depending on how large a configuration you want to manage and the number of Configuration Items (CIs) and CI Attributes you have. FootPrints Configuration Manager has a number of automations to help get your configuration built as quickly as possible, including the ability to import CIs from a .csv file and Configuration Manager templates.
There are two levels of Administration for FootPrints Configuration Manager:
- System Administration – Create and Delete CMDBs, Link CMDBs to Projects, define system-wide CMDB terminology. Accessed from Administration | System | Configuration Manager from the main FootPrints Toolbar.
- CMDB-Specific Administration – Mange CI Types, their Attributes, Relationships and Statuses, Import Data, and more. Accessed from Administration Toolbar option within the CMDB.
