Benefits of using BMC AMI Storage Automation
However, for additional site-specific automation requirements,
BMC AMI Storage Automation
n communicates with
BMC AMI Ops Automation
or any other automated operations package.
With BMC AMI Storage Automation, you can:
- Broadcast any storage-related condition noted in any BMC AMI Storage function to TSO users, to the system log or console, or to automated-operations packages to initiate further automation
- Initiate actions against pools, volumes, applications, or data sets that meet user-specified criteria. A console interface allows these actions to be initiated from any automated-operations package in response to any storage condition.
- Initiate actions based on DFSMShsm errors or messages. Through this process, you can rely on automated responses to DFSMShsm errors instead of having to scroll through DFSMShsm error logs or reports to identify the errors.
- Issue a command. Automation can issue system commands, HSM commands, or SVOS commands.
- Add a volume to a storage group
- Create automated solutions to scan for, identify, and take action on almost any condition for pools, volumes, data sets, HSM errors, HSM messages, or open VSAM data sets
- Customize distributed solutions to respond to storage conditions that are problematic at your data center
- Tailor skeleton JCL to manipulate resources and save a data set for manual review or submission to resolve a condition
- View automation statistics and tracking information to determine the effectiveness of each solution
