Specifying UIE commands

UIE offers the following levels of commands:

  • Global commands—Specified at the COMMAND prompt for a broad range of functions. See CHANGE and IMPORT-and-EXPORT.
  • Panel commands—Commands that you select from items on the panel or type in some input field to perform UIE functions. Panel commands are used to define many of the job commands executed by the UIE batch job.
  • Job commands—Commands executed by the UIE batch job when you submit the JCL you created.

On most of the UIE panels, you select and execute panel commands. Job commands are executed automatically when you run the JCL as described in Generating-and-executing-the-JCL.
