Executing the SETUP program


Use the SETUP program to install BMC Performance Predictor for Mainframes and other files on your hard disk. When you execute SETUP, a series of dialog boxes open, which guide you through the installation process.

Note

Before you execute the SETUP program, close all of your open files and applications. You might have to restart your system after installation if SETUP cannot override certain system files. You only need to restart if prompted at the end of the installation. 

The installation CD has an auto-start feature. When you put the CD into your CD drive, the auto-start program is displayed automatically ( BMC Performance Assurance Suite for Mainframes Auto Start program).

 If your system has auto-start turned off, start the SETUP program as follows:

  1. On your desktop, choose Windows Start => Run.
  2. In the Open field, specify the path name for the SETUP program in your CD drive, for example:
  1. E: \SETUP.EXE
  2. In this example, type drive letter E, followed by a colon and a backslash ( ), and the name of the SETUP program—SETUP.EXE.
  3. Click OK to display the BMC Performance Predictor for Mainframes Setup page shown in the following image .

    If any Windows programs are open, close the open programs, and continue.

  4. Click Next to display the License Agreement page.
