Generating CTRACE reports for Traces


You can generate IBM interactive problem control system (IPCS) CTRACE reports for Packet, Data, and OSA Traces. You can use these reports to format and analyze data. For more information about CTRACE reports types, see "Formatting packet traces using IPCS" in the IBM z/OS online documentation.

To generate CTRACE reports for Traces

  1. Enter the RPT action on the following views:
  2. In the IPCS CTrace Report Options dialog box, enter the following information:

    Field

    Description

    Report Type

    Specifies the CTRACE report type

    Valid values are 1 (sessions), (stats), 3 (streams), and 4 (format).

    Report Format

    Specifies the report format

    Valid values are 1 (summary) and 2 (detail).

    Protocol Type

    (Optional) Specifies the protocol type

    Valid values are as follows:

    • TCP
    • UDP
    • ICMP
    • IGMP
    • OSPF

    Port Number(s)

    (Optional) Specifies the port number

    You can specify a port number, a range of ports separated by a single dash, or up to four individual ports separated by commas.

    IP AddressX

    (Optional) Specifies the IP address

    You can specify up to four IP addresses. To use masking, specify a prefix separated by a forward slash (for example, 192.172.68.0/24).

  3. Enter END.
