Monitoring component availability options

This topic describes the options available in BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IP to monitor component availability.

Availability options

Option	Action
TCP/IP monitor	Allows you to monitor the status and activity of your TCP/IP stacks. For more information, see Description of TCP/IP monitor views.
Availability monitor	Allows you to establish and monitor critical resources, such as applications, devices, links, ports, and other resources. For more information, see Using-availability-monitor.
Availability ping	Allows you to automatically ping an IP network device to determine its availability and provide device response times. For information, see Using-availability-ping.

Description of TCP/IP monitor views

The TCP/IP monitor views provide detailed information about TCP/IP stack activity:

View	Description
STACKS	Statistical information for each TCP/IP stack that is detected on a z/OS platform
STACKIP and STACKI6	IP statistics for the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols for the TCI/IP stack
STACKICM and STACKC6	TCP/IP statistics for the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) and ICMPv6 protocols
STACKTCP	TCP statistics
STACKUDP	User Datagram Protocol (UDP) statistics
STACKSMC	SMC Statistics (valid only for version z/OS 2.1 and later)
STACKCPU	CPU and paging statistics
