Prerequisites

The following list describes prerequisites for using the Rules Management application.

  • CAS
You must have a Coordinating Address Space (CAS) installed that is started and connected to the BMC AMI Ops Automation PAS before using the user address space (UAS) to access windows-mode views to manage the contents of the registry. For information about how to install and customize a CAS, see Creating the CAS startup procedure

  • HFS path
The BMC AMI Ops Automation PASes and CASes require update access to the BMC AMI Ops Infrastructure common registry when using the UAS to manage the registry contents. The BMC AMI Ops common registry is an HFS or zFS directory structure whose top level is defined to the CAS through the HFSPATH view. For more information about using the HFSPATH view, see Identifying a file system to a CAS

  • RTCS
You must have an RTCS address space installed, started, and active before starting a BMC AMI OpsA PAS.
To install RTCS, see Administering Runtime Component System (RTCS). For additional information about how to perform additional RTCS customization tasks, see Customizing after installation (Common mainframe infrastructure).
