Specifying the HOST parameter
- BLOCK: when HOST is not specified, the default system is where the object is ACTIVE; otherwise, TOM uses the primary system in the valid system list (VSL)
- BOUNCE
- LOCK: when HOST not specified, the default is the system where the object is ACTIVE; otherwise, the primary system in the VSL is used
- START
- STOP: when HOST is not specified, the default system is where the object is ACTIVE; otherwise, TOM uses the primary system in the valid system list (VSL)
- UNBLOCK: for UNBLOCK and UNLOCK "when HOST is not specified, TOM uses the primary system in the Valid System List (VSL)"
Use the HOST parameter with these functions to specify the name of a MVS system that is included in the object's VSL. The VSL defines the systems where an object can run in the TOMPLEX. This means that you can schedule an EXEC for one of these functions on one system and specify the action to occur on another system in the TOMPLEX.
The following common errors can occur when you use the HOST() parameter:
- RC111: HOST(hostname) keyword is missing.
- RC116: HOST(hostname) is inactive or does not exist.
- RC121: HOST(hostname) is not in the valid systems list.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
