Accessing the Cost Variance to Date chart
By accessing the Cost Variance to Date chart, you can view a chart that displays the cumulative amount of difference between the actual costs and projected costs for every billing month of the contract.
To access the Cost Variance to Date chart
In the Cost Variance by Billing Month quadrant, click the grayed-out toggle dot
.The Cost Variance to Date chart is displayed.
By viewing the Cost Variance to Date chart, you can see a monthly cumulative view of the MLC Cost differences between budgeted and actual costs for the entire term on the contract.
The following table describes the elements of the chart:
Chart element
Description
Actual cumulative cost difference of the billing month
Projected cumulative cost difference of the billing month
Green Bar
Indicates the actual or projected cumulative cost was less than the cumulative budgeted cost from the contract starting month up to the billing month
Red Bar
Indicates the actual or projected cumulative cost was greater than the cumulative budgeted cost from the contract starting month up to the billing month
- (Optional) You can perform any of the following actions:
- Click on any point in the chart area to view the interval details.
- You can use Options
to change the display of the chart as follows:- Single period view
- Stacked period view
Grouped period view

- Use the toggle dots
to switch between the following chart views:- Cost Variance by Billing Month
- Cost Variance to Date
- Hover the mouse over any point or bar on the chart to view the date it occurred.
- Click on any bar in the chart to hyperlink to the MLC Monthly Summary Report and display a report for the selected month.
