Installing UIE/VM

This section describes the process for installing Universal Information Exchange/VM (UIE/VM).

Overview of the installation process

To install the product files, perform the following steps:

  1. Review the requirements for installing and running UIE/VM. See Reviewing-the-system-requirements.
  2. Obtain the product files. See Obtaining-the-product-files.
  3. Create the required Product Control File. See Setting-up-the-Product-Control-File-for-UIE-VM.
  4. Verify the installation by using the UIEVM command to invoke UIE/VM.

Important

Before you can use the product, UIE/VM requires that you run Velocity Software products or run the VM Monitor to collect specific VM Monitor records. For details on running the VM Monitor, see the Collecting-VM-Monitor-data documentation.
