GC – Generate Parameters Clone

This section provides information about Generate Parameters Clone. 

GC – Definition

Type GC beside a new generatable module to copy or clone the Generate Parameters (or Options) from an existing module.

The Clone Generate Parms screen in the following figure is displayed to specify the other existing module.

GC Warning

If GC is requested against a module that already has Generate Parameters defined, a warning will be displayed to alert the user that these Parameters will be overwritten if they continue.

Generate Parameters are Inherited

The Generate Parameters for a new version are inherited from the version that the Task was based on at Checkout. These Parameters determine the way the module is compiled. They are displayed when performing a G operation, and (as shown in the following figure) any changes made are stored along with that particular version.
