Extract—Some more examples
This section introduces some extract option features not covered in previous sections, specifically how to utilize the Extract Reference List or Request File Member List to reuse previously saved extract requests.
To illustrate the Extract Reference List function, you will:
- change the list to a two-line display with the DISPLAY command
- view the request details with the I (information) line command
- only change the selection criteria for the driving object and submit the extract request
- add unrelated objects to an extract request
- specify selection criteria for an unrelated object
- specify the Extract file information
- specify Checkpoint/Resumption information
- save the extract request to the file FRSAMP.EXTCRIT and member name UNREL
- submit the JCL with Checkpoint/Resumption Enabled
- resume the extract from the checkpoint
- modify or “clone” an extract request (EXTMENU) to run on a different subsystem which has the same objects but with different names
- save the “cloned” extract request to the file FARDX.EXTCRIT and member name CLONEXT.
