Use of views in load
File-AID/RDX supports the use of views in the Load function. Support of views varies depending on the load option selected (SQL Insert statements or Db2 Load utility).
Db2 load method SQL Insert:
- If you extracted from views:
- File-AID/RDX displays view names as target objects on the Column Mapping and Target Environment screens
- File-AID/RDX creates the views as tables, if the views don't exist in the Target Environment
- The target view must be a single table view
- If you extracted from tables:
- You can type over target names with the name of an existing view
- The target view must be a single table view
If you are loading data to an existing table or view, any target columns that are not mapped to source columns will be filled with default values.
Db2 load method Db2 Load:
- If you extracted from views:
- File-AID/RDX displays view names as target objects on the Column Mapping and Target Environment screens
- File-AID/RDX creates the views as tables, if the views don't exist in the Target Environment
- The target view must be a single table view
- If the target views do exist in the Target Environment, you must change the load method to SQL; File-AID/RDX will not allow loading into views with the Db2 load utility
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
