Use this screen to allocate the new Disguise Criteria File that File-AID/Data Solutions uses as a repository of detailed disguise criteria (rules).

Press END (PF3) to allocate the file, or use the CANCEL command to cancel the allocation. When allocation is complete, File-AID for IMS displays a message: FILE ALLOCATED in the upper-right corner of the screen.

File Name

Specify the name of the Disguise Criteria File to be allocated. If you don’t use quotes around the name, File-AID for IMS will add your TSO ID as the prefix.

Management Class

Specify the SMS management class to use for allocation of the file or leave blank to accept the default. The management class controls the migration, backup, and retention for the file.

Storage Class

Specify the SMS storage class to use for allocation of the file or leave blank to accept the default. The storage class describes the hardware requirements of the file.

Generic Unit

Specify the device type on which the new file will reside. The names of these devices are installation dependent.

Volume serial

Specify the volume serial of the direct access device (disk) where the file should be allocated or leave blank to accept the default.

Data Class

Specify the SMS data class to use for allocation of the file or leave blank to accept the default. The data class describes the attributes of the file such as RECORG, KEYLEN, KEYOFF, SPACE, etc.

Space Allocation

Specify the space allocation values for the data and index components or accept the defaults.

Space units

Specify one of the following:

TRK - Tracks
CYL - Cylinders
BLK - Blocks
KB - Kilobytes
MB - Megabytes

Primary quantity

Specify the primary space allocation quantity.

Secondary quantity

Specify the secondary space allocation quantity.

Directory blocks

Specify the number of directory blocks to be allocated in the Criteria File. The Criteria File is a PDS. Every time you create a new criteria rule, a new member of the PDS will be created. Each directory block in a PDS requires 256 bytes of disk space, plus the interrecord gap and that space is taken from the beginning of your primary allocation. The directory contains information required to manage the members. Each directory block is big enough to hold the required information for about three criteria rule members.

Record format

Record format must be VB (Variable length blocked)

Record length

Record length must be 300.

Block size

Block size must be 27998.
