File-AID Compare


The File-AID Compare element uses the File-AID product to compare files. The File-AID compare job produces a report that is available in one of the spool files. This report is automatically retrieved after submitting the job and it lists number of changed, inserted and deleted records between the old and the new dataset. In the File-AID compare element, choose what kind of changes you want to assert on: Records changed, inserted and/or deleted. For each of the selected assertions, the corresponding line in the report will be located and it will be asserted that the number is 0.

Add File-AID Compare to the Test Scenario by dragging it from the tool palette. This will open the Insert a new File-AID Compare element popup. Here are the fields available when setting up this element:

Label

Specify the label name you want assigned.

Description

Provide an optional description of the Test Element

Assert on records:

  • Changed - Use this to indicate if the element should fail if the File-AID Compare reports changed records.
  • Inserted - Use this to indicate if the element should fail if the File-AID Compare reports inserted records.
  • Deleted - Use this to indicate if the element should fail if the File-AID Compare reports deleted records.

File-AID JCL

Insert the complete File-AID Compare step JCL. Exclude the Job card definition as the Total Test Host server creates this dynamically.
