Row command help facility

The File-AID for Db2 Object Administration Help Facility opens a window of valid commands for any window. To access the row command Help Facility, place the cursor in the sequence number field and press <Help>. The default <Help> key is PF1.

The Help window (see the following figure) groups available commands by function:

  • MAINTAIN
  • NAVIGATE
  • SECURITY
  • OTHER.

Help Window for Databases. Row command Help windows can be generated for any window by placing the cursor on the sequence numbers and pressing <Help>.

Row command placement

File-AID for Db2 Object Administration can, when requested, place the row command in the requesting row of the parent window. The requesting row is the row the cursor was on when Help was requested. To use this feature of the Help Facility, be sure the cursor is on the row in which the command is to be placed before you press <Help>. After the Help window opens, place the cursor on the row command you want and press Enter. File-AID for Db2 Object Administration places the row command in the requesting row and removes the Help windows. Press Enter again to execute the command.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
