Installing Data Studio for use with Total Test

Total Test users can create test cases to execute File-AID/RDX specifications. Perform the following steps to configure Data Studio for use with Total Test.

Warning

Important

A File-AID/EX communication manager installed with File-AID Services is required for this feature when using Total Test to execute File-AID/RDX specifications in a CLI environment.

  1. Install and configure File-AID/EX execution server. A standalone remote execution server is required for use with Total Test to execute File-AID/RDX specifications. This is only necessary if an upgrade for the remote execution server is needed or if no existing remote execution server is defined. For more information, see Installing a stand-alone File-AID/EX execution server.
  2. Install and configure File-AID Services. This will install the File-AID/EX communication manager that is required by Total Test. For more information, see Installing File-AID services.

    Warning

    Important

If the File-AID/EX communication manager default port 4901 conflicts with another port number on the system where File-AID Services is installed, use the File-AID Services configuration utility to change the port number. If the port number is changed, you need to stop and restart the File-AID/EX communication manager windows service.

  3. Configure Workbench for Eclipse Client for use of the File-AID/EX communication manager. For more information, see the Data Explorer User Guide topic regarding managing communication managers.

    Warning

    Important

The Workbench for Eclipse Client, File-AID Services (FAS), File-AID/EX communication manager, and remote execution server must have the same version number.
