Installing FARE in a Custom Location

The default installation location of FARE when installed for use by the Local execution server is <Topaz Installation directory>\Enterprise Data\FARE. In rare cases, when a user has multiple Topaz installations on the same machine, it may be inconvenient to have to perform multiple installations and upgrades for FARE to keep all of them consistent.

Using Data Studio you can install FARE into a custom location and to share it between multiple installations of Workbench for Eclipse. In that case, the user needs to create an environment variable FARE_HOME pointing to the FARE installation location, restart the Local execution server (see Shutting-Down-or-Restarting-Local-Execution-Server-and-Local-Communication-Manager) and the provided installation of FARE will be available for Data Studio applications.
