Option GI – Generate Impacts
Option GI, the Generate Impacts function, will show the list of Impacts that need to be generated. It can be invoked from the Container List by typing GI beside an Assignment or Release, or from the Task List by typing GI beside a Task.
The list of Impacts is generated from the specified input criteria, as shown in the following figure. The Stream and Level must be entered, but the remaining search criteria (Release, Assignment, Application, Owning Appl Group) may be entered, if desired.
In the following example, all modules in Stream PLAY, Level DEV1, Application PLAY, SubApplication PLAY that exist in Assignment PLAY000022 will be checked to determine whether any Impacted Components need to be generated.

Generate Impact List
The list of Impacts is shown in the following figure. From this list, Impacted components can be removed by entering D beside them. To accept the final list, press PF3 or End to continue processing.

Processing Impacts
Impacts can be generated later by choosing Process Option A, or they can be generated immediately by choosing Process Option G.
In both cases, an Assignment needs to be specified to store the new Action C Tasks that will be created for each Impact.
