Using the Index Rebuild function

The Recovery utility can invoke the Index Rebuild function to automatically rebuild primary and secondary indexes that are associated with HDAM and HIDAM databases and to rebuild indirect list data sets (ILDSs) that are associated with High Availability Large Databases (HALDBs). To use the Index Rebuild function, you must have a license for the following BMC product or products:

  • The BMC AMI Backup and Recovery for IMS product (no additional products are necessary)
  • The RECOVERY PLUS for IMS product and one of the following products:
    • One of the MAXM Reorg solution products
    • CONCURRENT REORG for IMS
    • SECONDARY INDEX UTILITY/EP
    • SECONDARY INDEX UTILITY

BMC recommends that you keep all of these products at the same level set.
