FUNC keyword

The FUNC keyword specifies whether to synchronously or asynchronously recover the members of the change accumulation group or database data set group.

If you specify a value for the GRPLIM keyword, the Recovery utility treats FUNC(REC) as FUNC(AREC) and processes in an asynchronous mode.

You can use this keyword in the GENJCL step of the Archive Image Copy utility to specify the function of the ARCHIVE command requested.

Required on the GROUP control statement when using the CAGRP keyword or DBDSGRP keyword

Required on the ARCHIVE control statement of the Archive Image Copy utility

FUNC(value)

Values

Specify one of the following values in the Recovery utility:

  • REC—Synchronously recover the database data set groups
  • AREC—Asynchronously recover the database data set groups

Specify one of the following values in the Archive Image Copy utility:

  • PARM—Defines certain common parameter values that apply to all the recovery requests
  • RECOVER—Requests recovery of one or more databases using Archive Image Copy

Important

This keyword must be used under the ARUSYSIN DD statement when used in the recovery step of an archive image copy utility.
