Restarting an abended job

When you have determined the cause of the abend, restart the job step by using your site’s standard procedures (for example, using the RESTART=stepName subparameter of the job statement or your site’s restart manager).

During an application program restart, you can use QUICKSTART to verify through the console operator that the application program is in a restart mode. If the console operator indicates that no restart is in progress, QUICKSTART abends immediately.Otherwise, the restart proceeds normally.

If you are using API mode and you have made changes to the application program, ensure that the values for JobName and StepName have not been modified, because these values are used to generate data set names for the QUICKSTART checkpoint save area files.
