Overview of Cloning Databases
Use this topic to clone both offline and online database with full pointer integrity.
When you use the CLONE command, you can create a clean database copy without having to:
- Quiesce all online transaction processing
- Complete the database restore process
When BMC Database Director for IMS finds that the database is allocated to an online IMS subsystem, it uses DCF to quiesce transactional activity to the database during the cloning process. The CLONE command assumes MODE(ONLINE).
