Energizer architecture
Energizer uses a multi-tiered architecture that features the BMC AMI Command Center for IMS and the Common Interface Server (CIS) server. These tiers work together, and can vary, based on your site’s installation.

The BMC AMI Command Center and CIS server work together to provide a user interface (UI) for BMC products such as Energizer. The CIS server is a TCP/IP application that controls communication between the BMC AMI Command Center and the mainframe.
The way in which these tiers work together can vary, based on your site’s installation. The CIS server is an SMP/E installable component and is installed on the mainframe by using the Installation System. After the CIS server is installed, configured, and running, the BMC AMI Command Center web-based application can be accessed. The following figure shows a sample environment:
