Enabling or disabling an Energizer for IMS Connect exclusive port

To implement port-level security, you can enable a port to exclusively issue Energizer commands and messages. The exclusive port is disabled by default.

When you enable an exclusive port:

  • Energizer communications are allowed on the exclusive port but restricted on all other ports.
  • OTMA messages (for example, transactions) are restricted on the exclusive port but allowed on all other ports.

When you disable the exclusive port, Energizer and OTMA messages are processed on all available ports.

The enabled exclusive port is used for the IPRCMDS0 exit only. Other exits (for example, HWSJAVA0, HWSSMPL0, and HWSSMPL1) use one of the non-exclusive ports. All non-exclusive ports process transactions from external systems.

For more information, see the online Help panel.

Before you begin

If you have configured Energizer views in your BMC AMI Ops IMS environment, make sure that the port you are about to make exclusive is the first port in the IMS Connect PROCLIB Configuration member.

Information
Example

The following is a sample PROCLIB Configuration member in Energizer with BMC AMI Ops IMS environment, where port number 11731 can be made an exclusive port:

TCPIP (HOSTNAME=TCPIP,RACFID=userID
ECB=Y,MAXSOC=2000,TIMEOUT=8888,NODELAY=Y,
PORTID=(11731,11732,11733,LOCAL),
 IDLETO=18000,
EXIT=(HWSJAVA0,HWSSOAP1,HWSCSLO0,HWSCSLO1,HWSSMPL0))

To enable a port as exclusive
