Viewing job output


Viewing job output is a good way to verify the result of a job and to research unexpected results.

To view job output in the Jobs perspective

  1. In the jobs window of the Jobs perspective, select a job and click the View Output Data Sets GUID-F094EE96-CC8A-4E8B-AD6D-F7AB86DCBB6D-low.pngicon.The output data set list is displayed.

  2. Select a job ID and click the Browse Job Output GUID-94311454-491E-4C73-AFBA-2938F03F9C15-low.pngicon. You can also double-click the job and data set.A job output window opens and shows the job output.

    Each time that you select a different job and click the Browse Job Output GUID-94311454-491E-4C73-AFBA-2938F03F9C15-low.pngicon, a new job output window opens.

    Tip

    To return from the list of output data sets to the jobs list, click the Return to Jobs List GUID-AFA8D00B-C8BC-40D3-A643-FDD1B7A8D210-low.pngicon.

To view job output in the JES viewer

  1. In the JES Viewer window, select a job with status OUTQ and click Browse.When the Job Output window is first displayed, only one tab (Data Set Selection) is displayed. The Data Set Selection tab lists all ddnames that contain output.

  2. On the Data Set Selection tab, select a ddname in the DD Name table column and click View Output.A tab corresponding to the ddname is added to the Job Output window and shows the job output for that ddname.

    Each time that you select a different ddname on the Data Set Selection tab and click View Output, a tab is added to the Job Output window.

    Tip

    You can navigate among tabs by clicking the tab that corresponds to the ddname for which you want to view data.

    To close a tab, click the X control on the tab label.
