Field

Description

LATEST PIT RECOVERY TIME IS: yyddd hh:mm:ss.t (DR PIT)

This field contains a timestamp that represents the earliest close time of all open PRILOG records that were closed by the DRRCN utility. This timestamp can be used with the BMC Recovery utility as a Point-In-Time (PIT) recovery timestamp. This timestamp is especially important in a data-sharing environment because database updates on other PRILOG records that follow this timestamp cannot be merged. Recovery should not be attempted beyond this timestamp in a data-sharing environment.

If the IRM keyword was specified, a PIT timestamp and a timestamp that represents the latest PRILOG close time of all PRILOG records that were closed by the DRRCN utility are saved in the RMGR repository. These timestamps are used to limit searches that are performed with the Find Recovery Points (FRP) function and Log Analysis (LGA) function. This DR PIT can be selected for recovery by choosing it as a Find Recovery Points window, by selecting it from the Recovery Options panel, or by specifying DRPIT as the value of the RECOVERTO keyword in the Batch Interface utility.

If the Latest PIT Recovery Time value reflects a need to synchronize log switches, see Synchronize-log-switches.

If the DRRCN utility did not close any PRILOG records, this field contains N/A. Under these conditions, a RECON Cleanup PIT record is not written to the RMGR repository.

CAGRP NAME

This field contains the name of a change accumulation (CA) group for which a CA run record represents a valid recovery time. If every CA group in the RECON has a complete CA run with the same timestamp, this field contains ALL CAGRPS instead of the individual names. If no valid change accumulation recovery points are valid, this field contains NO CA RECOVERY TIMES.

VALID RECOVERY TIME

This field contains the stop time of the change accumulation run record.

DESCRIPTION

This field contains information about the type of change accumulation run record. The following types are valid:

  • STANDARD CHANGE ACCUM
a complete change accumulation run record representing a valid recovery time that is equal to or later than the value in the LATEST PIT RECOVERY TIME field.
  • BMC PIT CHANGE ACCUM
a point-in-time (PIT) CA that was created by the BMC Change Accumulation utility
  • BMC TIMESTAMP PIT CHANGE ACCUM
a timestamp point-in-time (PIT) CA that was created by the BMC Change Accumulation utility

For more information, see Considerations at the home site for creating CA recovery times.
