Creating a diagnostic tape

The BMC Software technical support analyst may ask you to send BMC Software documentation for use in problem diagnosis. The fastest way to get documentation to BMC Software is by way of email or FTP. Otherwise you may send a cartridge tape.

The following table shows the utilities you can use to copy the data to the tape.

Note

Create a standard label tape and include a listing of JCL and messages for the job that produced the tape. If you use DFDSS, include the device type (3380 or 3390) of the original data set. This information helps the technical support analyst to download your information from the tape.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
