Specifying suspend/resume support
When you customize BMC Application Director for IMS, you specify:
- Whether Application Director can suspend and resume IMS BMP, DLI, and DBB batch jobs
- The code or combination of codes that the jobs can use to determine whether they have been suspended and resumed
- Whether Application Director can also suspend and resume jobs with connections to IMS external subsystems (such as, but not limited to, connections to DB2 or MQSeries)
- If you choose to suspend and resume jobs with connections to IMS external subsystems (ESSs), whether Application Director can terminate the connections for jobs that are waiting on ESS calls so that the jobs can be suspended and resumed
- Specifying-the-value-for-the-Allow-Suspend-Resume-parameter Using the Allow Suspend/Resume parameter, you can specify:
- Determining-whether-to-have-BMC-Application-Director-for-IMS-terminate-connections-to-ESSs1 When IMS BMP, DLI, or DBB batch job are waiting on calls from IMS ESSs, you can have BMC Application Director for IMS terminate the connections to the IMS ESSs so that the jobs can be suspended and resumed.
- Specifying-the-value-for-the-allow-STO-REG-n-CANCEL-command-and-ESS-wait-limit-parameters You use the Allow STO REG n CANCEL command parameter to specify whether BMC Application Director for IMS can issue the following commands to terminate the connections for jobs that are waiting on IMS ESS calls so that the jobs can be suspended and resumed.
- Specifying-the-codes-that-indicate-a-suspend-and-resume For all IMS BMP, DLI, and DBB batch jobs that are suspended and resumed, you can specify the code, or combination of codes, that the jobs can use to determine that they have been suspended and resumed.
