BMC iCopy for IMS

You can specify a pattern data set name for the data sets that iCopy dynamically allocates for image copies.

• When you install iCopy, you can specify user defined constants using the Edit User Defined Constants customizable parameter.
• When you are using the IMAGECOPY command, you can specify pattern data set names for the DSNAME keyword with ALLOCATE. (You can then also include the User Defined Constants that you defined when you installed iCopy in the pattern data set name.)

BMC iExtract for IMS

You can specify a pattern data set name for an iExtract output data set that is dynamically allocated.

BMC iLoad for IMS

You can specify a pattern data set name for an iLoad input data set that is dynamically allocated.

BMC iUnload for IMS

You can specify a pattern data set name for an iUnload output data set that is dynamically allocated.

BMC Data Collection Facility

You can specify a pattern data set name for the data sets for Data Collection Facility.

• When you install Database Director or HALO, you can specify the Pattern data set name customizable parameter in the Data Collection Facility parameters
• When you are using the CLONE, REORG, or CONVERT command, you can specify the DCFMASK keyword

BMC Application Director for IMS

You can specify a pattern data set name for the temporary LOAD library.

BMC Database Director for IMS and BMC HALO for IMS

When you install the products, you can specify patterns for customizable parameters. The patterns in the parameters are the defaults for the data set names.

You can also override the defaults using a keyword with the commands. The table lists the customizable parameters and the corresponding keyword for the commands that use pattern data set names.
