Additional information about subscripted user defined constants
When you define a subscripted user defined constant, the value that you specify as the constant is subscripted with the number of the data set created.
The table shows:
- The types of data sets where subscripted user defined constants can be specified
- Indicates the products where those data sets are created and used
- Tells you how the product assigns the subscript
Type of pattern data set name | Product | How the subscript is assigned | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
BMC iCopy for IMS | BMC Database Director for IMS | BMC HALO for IMS | ||
Data collection facility data set name | X | X | The subscript is always a 1. | |
Image copy control parameters | X | X | X | The image copy number is the subscript. For example, when you request 3 copies of the image copy data set, the copy numbers are 1,2, and 3. (The Auto-Enable utility performs the image copy and assigns the subscript.) |
Online reorganization log parameters | X | X | The subscript is the log copy number. For example, 1 and 2. | |
Temporary DBRC RECON dataset names | X | X | The RECON DD number. For example:

Unload data set name | X | X | The subscript is always a 1. | |
Work file 1 data set name | X | X | The subscript is always a 1. | |
