The +SVRDISK parameter specifies the maximum number of disk (or DASD) servers to start for server processing.
+SVRDISK is set by the configuration job, usually UBMCCNTL(NGT$GLBL). You can override this parameter in individual utility jobs with the UTLPARMS DD. You can specify the value of this parameter dynamically at runtime using the XSUTGLOB (global variable definition) automation control point.

The values are defined as follows:
1 | Signifies that 1 disk server should be started . |
|---|---|
maxDisks | A number from 1 to 32 indicating the maximum number of disk servers to be started. |
-1 | Signifies that a disk server should not be started. |
