Escalation after a point-in-time recovery

After a point-in-time recovery, you should not make an incremental copy with READTYPE RANDOM or READTYPE AUTO if you used RESETMOD NO to make any copies that were involved in the recovery.

BMC AMI Copy detects this situation and will use READTYPE FULLSCAN for the new copy if you are using RESETMOD NO.

BMC AMI Copy will also use READTYPE FULLSCAN for the copy if there is only a full copy before the point-in-time recovery. If RESETMOD YES is used, BMC AMI Copy escalates to a full copy following the rules shown in Escalating-incremental-copies-to-full-copies.
