Setting up the connection to agent infrastructure
The dispatcher is a new architectural component in BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation that replaces agents used in previous releases of this product. You can use BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation in any IT operations managed environment that uses agents.
You can set up dispatcher actions to connect to existing agent infrastructures. When you create and deploy a dispatcher instance, the engine diverts the flow to the dispatcher, which uses one of the following action types to process the work that agents previously handled:
Dispatcher action script type | Description |
---|---|
dispatch_fileget | Retrieves package reference information |
dispatch_fileput | Pushes files during a deployment (Send*Content) |
dispatch_srun | Runs activity libraries and actions |
dispatch_prun | Handles analyzers |
BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation supports an integration with the following types of agents:
Furthermore, by using the powerful dispatcher action type scripts, you can tap into the API of your existing agents' clients.
