Data types available from Micro Focus NNMi

  1. Choose "Create New Collector" or "Use Existing Collector"

  2. Select data types (source supported data types will automatically be available in the UI; ensure Destination can ingest chosen data types)
    1. Event
    2. Topology

  3. Collector (Source Mediator)
    1. Event Data Type (Source)
    2. Topology Data Type (Source)

  4. Distributors (Destination Mediator)
    1. Event Data Type (Destination)
    2. Topology Data Type (Destination)

  5. Select Continue

Step 6a: Configure Source Events



Step 6a: Configure Source Events

  1. Select Data Type to access configuration screens 
    1. Event (selected)
    2. Topology

  2. Nature: the following impact choices can be selected:
    1. Root Cause
    2. Secondary Root Cause
    3. Symptom
    4. Service Impact
    5. Stream Correlation
    6. Info
    7. None

  3. Origin: the following severity choices can be selected:
    1. Management Software
    2. Manually Created
    3. Remotely Generated
    4. SNMP Trap
    5. Syslog
    6. Other

  4. Severity: the following status choices can be selected:
    1. Critical
    2. Major
    3. Minor
    4. Warning
    5. Normal

  5. Data time Window: the historical period from present time which StreamWeaver will collect event data from Micro Focus NNMi (5 Minutes interval recommended)

  6. Schedule Name: the scheduled frequency which StreamWeaver will collect event data from Micro Focus NNMi (5 Minutes interval recommended)

  7. After configuring Events and Topology, select "Create Collectors and Continue"

Step 6b: Configure Source Topology

  1. Select Data Type to access configuration screens 
    1. Event 
    2. Topology (selected)

  2. Data time Window: the historical period from present time which StreamWeaver will collect topology data from Micro Focus NNMi (5 Minutes interval recommended)

  3. Schedule Name: choose a name from the drop-down: the Micro Focus NNMi scheduled frequency recommendation is 1 hour

  4. Advanced: Do not change unless directed by StreamWeaver

  5. After all Data Type Configurations are complete, select 'Create Collectors and Continue'
