Manually Add AppDynamics Applications for EUM

AppDynamics does not yet provide REST support for discovering EUM applications.  However, you can load EUM applications to obtain metrics for the applications using the following approach outlined here.  Note that this supports the following source data types:

  • Events/Health Rule Violations
  • Metrics

Topology is currently unsupported.


  • Open AppDynamics and select one of the applications you'd like to add.  In the example here we'll be adding the "AD-Financial-Browser" application.

  • Open a file titled "appd-preloaded-apps.json" under the streamweaver `conf` directory.

  • From the information provided in the AppDynamics controller, add the description, id and name fields to the JSON.  The application id can be obtained from the URL for the application selected in the AppD controller UI.

  • Once completed, running the Wizard or opening the stream configuration page will display the application and enable selection of the metrics.
