Data types available from Microsoft SCOM

  1. Select data types (source supported data types will automatically be available in the UI; ensure Destination can ingest chosen data types

  2. Collector (Source Mediator)
    1. Event Data Type (Source)
    2. Metric Data Type (Source)
    3. Topology Data Type (Source)

  3. Distributors (Destination Mediator)
    1. Event Data Type (Destination)
    2. Metric Data Type (Destination)
    3. Topology Data Type (Destination)

  4. Select Continue

Step 6a: Configure Source Events



Step 6a: Configure Source Metrics

  1. Select Data Type to access configuration screens 
    1. Metric (selected)
    2. Event
    3. Topology

  2. Management Pack: Indicate which Microsoft SCOM Management Pack the metrics are included in

  3. SCOM Groups: Filters by available SCOM Groups

  4. Data Window: Length of time that the metric collection spans

  5. Data Latency: Time offset of collection, if any

  6. Schedule Name: Collection Interval for metrics

  7. After configuring Metrics, select "Next" to configure Events

  1. Select Data Type to access configuration screens 
    1. Metric
    2. Event (selected)
    3. Topology

  2. Category: Indicates which Microsoft SCOM Event Categories are to be collected

  3. Severities: Indicates which Microsoft SCOM Event Severities are to be collected

  4. Priority: Indicates which Microsoft SCOM Event Priorities are to be collected

  5. State: Indicates which Microsoft SCOM Event States are to be collected

  6. Data Window: Length of time that the event collection spans

  7. Data Latency: Time offset of collection, if any

  8. Schedule Name: Collection Interval for metrics

  9. After configuring Events select "Next" to configure Topology

  1. Select Data Type to access configuration screens (do not click "Create Collectors and Continue" until all Data Types have been configured)
    1. Event
    2. Metric
    3. Topology (selected)


  1. Management Pack: Indicate which Microsoft SCOM Management Pack the metrics are included in

  2. SCOM Groups: Filters by available SCOM Groups

  3. Data Window: Length of time that the event collection spans

  4. Data Latency: Time offset of collection, if any

  5. Schedule Name: Collection Interval for metrics

  6. After configuring Topology, select "Create Collectors and Continue"
