As an administrator, you must ensure that the infrastructure is always up and running with maximum efficiency. BMC Helix Operations Management and TrueSight Operations Management help you achieve this goal by providing tools to monitor your environment. You need to collect data about your environment to be able to understand its health.

The following image shows how PATROL Agent and KMs help BMC Helix Operations Management in collecting data for monitoring:

After you install KMs and PATROL Agent, you configure monitor policies. When these policies are enabled, data collection starts. The collected data is shown on the Devices page in the BMC Helix Operations Management and TrueSight Operations Management.

PATROL for Ceph Storage enables continuous monitoring of the health and performance of the distributed storage infrastructure. This robust monitoring extends to individual components, providing transparency into data status and insights into overall system health. PATROL for Ceph Storage includes the following monitoring features:

• Cluster Discovery: Monitors the health and performance metrics of the Ceph cluster, including usage, total capacity, and client performance.
• Host Monitoring: Discovers hosts and monitors their status and Quorum status.
• OSD Monitoring: Tracks OSD availability and performance metrics such as Apply Latency, Commit Latency, read/write bytes, usage, and read/write operations.
• Pool Monitoring: Monitors pool performance metrics, including usage, read/write bytes, read/write operations, and the number of objects.
