Installing

This section provides information about installing the BMC TrueSight Reporting product.

For hardware and software requirements for BMC TrueSight Reporting, see Hardware and operating system requirements for BMC TrueSight Reporting. For supported versions and system requirements, see System-requirements.

BMC recommends that you install the components of BMC TrueSight Reporting in the following sequence:

1. Install BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. (BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management supports both Sybase and Oracle Database.)
2. Install Reporting database.
   • Install Oracle version 11.2.0.2.0 Enterprise edition with Partitioning option or Oracle Database version 11.2.0.2.0 Standard Edition. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for Oracle Database and a dedicated Oracle instance for BMC TrueSight Report Engine.

   • Install Microsoft SQL Server version 2008, 2008 R2, or 2012 Standard Edition or Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, or 2012 Enterprise Edition.
     
     

     Note

     Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server are not part of the BMC TrueSight Operations Management Suite. It has to be procured by the customers.

      

3. Install BMC Reporting Foundation (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.1 SP3 Patch 3) on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.

4. Install BMC TrueSight Report Engine version 9.6.00 on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for BMC TrueSight Report Engine.

   Note

   One installation of BMC TrueSight Report Engine supports only one BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.
