Troubleshooting TEA Agent malfunctions using the Windows Procmon utility
If your TEA Agent does not start, the first step is to go to the \WorkingFolder\Log folder and open the agent.log file. This file shows if the TEA Agent registration was successful, and if not, you can see what the error was.
In some situations, if the TEA Agent cannot start, log files are not created. If this happens, you can use the Procmon.exe utility provided by Microsoft to help diagnose the problem as follows:
- Run Procmon.exe.
- In the Process Monitor Filter dialog box, select Process Name, and is; enter BMCTEAAgent.exe; and click Add.
- Click OK.
The interactions between the BMCTEAAgent.exe process and the Windows system (I/O) are displayed. - Select Save as from the File menu to save the output and send to your BMC support representative for analysis.
