Changing the password for the csm_user user account


Important

The following instructions are applicable to BMC Service Resolution 3.0 only.

Only the default user account (csm_user) will work for the BMC Service Resolution integration with BMC Operations Management. Each time you update the password for the csm_user user account, you need to update the password in BMC Service Resolution as well. 

You need to ensure the password for the csm_user user account is the same in both Operations Management and Service Resolution.

To change the password, perform the following steps:

Operations Management:

  1. Go to Administration > User Accounts in the TrueSight console.
  2. Select Manage via Atrium SSO.

  3. Change the password through the BMC Atrium SSO console.

BMC Service Resolution: 

  1. After you change the password for the csm_user user in the TrueSight console, run the following command on each Infrastructure Management Server integrated with Service Resolution:

    pw ibrsd register -arhost <AR Server host name> -arport <AR Server port number> -arUser <AR Server user name> -arpwd <AR user password> -tsimpwd <Password for csm_user user>

    <Password for csm_user user> is the password that you changed in the Atrium Single Sign-On console. 

  2. Restart the BMC Remedy AR System Server.
