Applying the 11.3.02 patch on TrueSight Operations Management Reporting


Do the following:

  1. Ensure that you have applied the 11.3.02 patch on TrueSight Smart Reporting 11.3.01.
  2. Log in as an administrator (Windows) or a root user (Linux) to the computer where you want to upgrade the Report Engine.
  3. Take a backup of the BMC_PROACTIVENET_REPORTENGINE_HOME  directory.
  4. (Windows only) Take a backup the %SystemRoot%\ProductRegistry.xml and %SystemRoot%\ProductRegistry.xsd files.
  5. Stop the Report Engine service.
    If you are upgrading multiple Report Engine servers that use a single database, stop the Report Engine service for all Report Engine 
    servers.
  1. Close all open instances of the Report Engine.
  2. Close all the running applications, folders, and command prompts that are related to TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine.
  3. (Optional) By default, the Report Engine is upgraded with AES 256-bit encryption key size. If you want to change the default AES encryption size to 128-bit, set the following environment variable:
    AES_ENCRYPTION_KEY_SIZE=128.
  4. Navigate to the Reports/ReportEngine/<platformfolder, where <platformis Linux or Windows.
    If you are applying the patch on multiple Report Engine servers that use a single database, apply the patch on all Report Engine servers one at a time.

    Need to install additional Report Engine servers? Follow these instructions.

    If you want to install additional TrueSight Operations ManagementReport Engine servers in a single-server environment, do the following:

    1. On the existing Report Engine server, apply the 11.3.02 patch .
    2. Install additional instances of Report Engine version 11.3.01 by using the same database that you used while upgrading the existing Report Engine.
    3. Apply the 11.3.02 patch on the additional instances of Report Engine.
  5. Do one of the following according to your platform:
    • For Windows, double-click ReportEngine<version>_bbuildNumber.exe
    • For Linux, at the command line, run the command: ReportEngine<version>_b<buildnumber>.bin

      Notes

      • If there is not enough space in the temporary directory, the system prompts you to select an alternate directory. On UNIX-based computers, you can set the IATEMPDIR environment variable to an alternate directory that has enough space.
      • For Linux installations, the installation file supports only the graphical user interface (GUI) mode and not the console or silent mode.
  1. On the Welcome page click Next.
  2. Review the license agreement, agree to the terms, and click Next.
  3. Select the TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine and Configure TrueSight Smart Reporting check boxes and click Next.
    The Upgrade to TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine 11.3.02 check box is selected by default.
  4. Click Install.
  5. On the Installation summary page, click Done to complete the upgrade process.
