Preparing to install TrueSight Operations Management Reporting
Installation of TrueSight Operations Management Reporting requires you to complete various preinstallation tasks. You can download the installation files from the BMC Eletronic Product Distribution (EPD) site.
Prerequisites for installing TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine
- Ensure that the system time of TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server and TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine is correct for their respective time zones.
- All the components of TrueSight Operations Management Reporting must be present in the same LAN/subnet as that of TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.
- If you have multiple Report Engines running, all hosts must use the same timezone.
- Ensure that you install TrueSight Infrastructure Management, the Report Engine, and the Reporting database on separate computers. You can install these components on a single computer in a test environment.
To enable Transport Layer Security (TLS)
If you are using the SQL Server as the Reporting database, you can configure the Report Engine to enable TLS after it is installed. For this, you must disable the encryption switch on the SQL Server database before you install the Report Engine.
Do the following to disable the switch:
- Log as an administrator (Windows) or a root user (Linux) in to the computer where the Microsoft SQL Server is installed.
- Open the SQL Server Configuration Manager.
- Navigate to SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for <SQL Instance>.
- Right-click Protocols for <SQL Instance> and select Properties. The Properties dialogue box is opened.
- Click the Flags tab, and set the Force Encryption Flag value to No.
- Restart the SQL server instance.
