Installing

The TrueSight Operations Management Reporting product provides a platform that compiles event and performance reports, which you can generate by using any reporting tools, such as TrueSight Smart Reporting.

Important

You can no longer install or upgrade the SAP Business Objects by using the TrueSight Operations Management Report Engine installer. If you want to install or upgrade SAP Business Objects, you must procure a SAP Business Objects licence and then install it. With TrueSight Operations Management Reporting, you can do one of the following:

  • Install TrueSight Smart Reporting and perform a fresh installation of Report Engine 11.3.01. See the TrueSight Smart Reporting documentation for more information.

  • Install TrueSight Smart Reporting and upgrade Report Engine to version 11.3.01.

BMC has announced end-of-life for BMC Reporting Foundation.

Installation process

Step 1: Complete the planning activities

As an IT architect or Solution Administrator, this information to plan a new deployment of the TrueSight Operations Management Reporting product.

Step 2: Prepare for TrueSight Reporting installation

Complete the preinstallation tasks for a successful installation of TrueSight Operations Management Reporting.

Step 3: Install TrueSight Smart Reporting or BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1

You can install one of the following reporting solutions according to your reporting needs:

  • TrueSight Smart Reporting. The Report Engine uses TrueSight Smart Reporting, which allows you to create performance and event reports with a simple drag-and-drop functionality. For more information, see the TrueSight Smart Reporting documentation .

  • BMC Reporting Foundation 4.1. BMC Reporting Foundation provides the base on which BMC reporting systems and solutions are built. BMC Reporting Foundation is a bundle of binaries of SAP® BusinessObjects™ Enterprise, a third-party business intelligence system. BMC Reporting Foundation does not include the database that contains the data used in the reports. For more information, see theBMC Reporting Foundation 4.1 documentation.

Step 4: Install TrueSight Report Engine

Complete the installation process by installing Report Engine.
