Data sheet

The information in this page is data that is obtained from internal testing. Actual performance may vary depending on your deployment environment.

The following tables shows the sizing synopses for a Reporting environment that incorporates performance data collection, impact management and event management:

Notes

  • For large environment, BMC recommends to use Enterprise Edition with partitioning for Oracle or SQL Server according the database you choose. Report Engine installed with Enterprise Edition with partitioning utilizes partitioning feature for storing the fact data. The fact data tables are partitioned on the date column and separate partitions are created for each day’s data. This enhances the performance for purging and summarization of data.
  • All performance data collection readings are obtained with default 4 stats data threads. For more information, see Scaling the performance data transfer job

Notes

  • Total Attributes is the product of attribute multiplied by each number of unique monitor instances it collects data for.
  • Sizing of Total attributes is based on 1 and 5 minutes interval of data points in BMC ProactiveNet 9.5. Prior to BMC ProactiveNet 9.5, 5 minutes was default polling interval whereas in BMC ProactiveNet 9.5, 1 minute can be the least polling interval depending on patrol agent configuration. Performance data load on Report Engine varies depending upon the polling cycle interval.
  • Performance may vary depending on the retention period.
  • For more information about memory configuration, see Performance-tuning.
