Switching cluster channels

This option is used to switch transmission queues for cluster channels while the queue manager is running.

To switch cluster channels

• 
  
  1. From the Navigation Panel, navigate to the relevant queue manager.
  2. From the Operations drop-down menu in the Properties screen for the relevant queue manager, select Switch Cluster Channel.
     
     The following popup dialog box is displayed:
     
      
  3. Define the following settings:
     • Enter the relevant Channel Name (enter a specific channel name or use the asterisk wildcard (either alone or at the end of a name pattern))
     • Select from the Optional Arguments (one of None, Query Only (retrieve the status of the channels matching the channel name pattern), or Do Not Transfer Messages (not to transfer messages to the transmission queue you switch to))
  4. Click Switch Channel. The queue manager calls the runswchl utility and displays the results in the Status Panel.
